Canine Intake - Dog Surrender
If you would like to surrender your dog, the following conditions apply:
- Intake hours are by appointment only Monday-Friday, 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
- Due to our facility limitations, all surrenders must weight 25 lbs. or less.
- We cannot accept overly aggressive animals.
- A health certificate is required for any surrendered dog over 8 years old.
For the safety and well-being of all animals in our care, Shake A Paw® Center for Rescue & Adoption does not accept animals that are visibly ill, contagious, or in need of extensive or emergency veterinary treatment at the time of intake.
Exceptions may be made for Adoptable Senior Dogs (8 years old or more) and Special Needs Dogs. Please see a Manager for Details.
We will hold all surrendered animals for a minimum of 48 hours prior to being placed for adoption. All reclaims after 48 hours will require an Adoption Fee.
